Nineteen of Daniil Medvedev's 21 titles have been won on hard surfaces
A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his first championship for nearly 30 months with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has endured a challenging year, achieving just one win at the big events and experiencing a setback at the American major.
His varied form on the ATP Tour - and struggles with his serve in particular - caused him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-time mentor his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought competitive win over challenger Moutet.
This represents Medvedev's initial title following the Rome competition and first on a hard surface after March of the previous year.
The win also indicates Medvedev has achieved 21 titles at 21 various tournaments.
"For the first time I have attended a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," stated tennis professional Daniil Medvedev.
"This title is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my older daughter Alisa was born was for her."
The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his previous six title deciders, comprising in that event in the past months.
His defensive approach and recurring reactions on the playing surface had caused commentators to doubt if his capacity to perform at the top level was over.
However the athlete has implemented adjustments in the last few weeks, making an effort to come to the net and perform assertively, supported by an enhanced serve.
Medvedev recovered from a deficit in the first set against the difficult Frenchman, winning 4 of the concluding five points to gain the advantage.
The pair traded breaks in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first tour victory, took control to create a third set.
The opponent saved 4 early opportunities in a close third set before the champion won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, he secured victory with a rally at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to manage a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
