Per recent claims from a informant, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, currently serving a two-decade sentence for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a clemency request for review by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Correctional Facility

House Democrats on the House judiciary committee announced that a whistleblower provided evidence indicating the inmate is working on the commutation application. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, stated in a news release that the facility's chief was “helping” the convict with document preparation and submission to support her bid for clemency.

Specific details of the “commutation application” remain unknown, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, according to the whistleblower, the prisoner has been receiving “customized” meals that are hand-delivered to her cell, and the supervisor has individually organized private meetings for Maxwell and her guests.

The visits reportedly involve a designated private space for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also reportedly permitted to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an “unprecedented action” given the potential danger and chance of unsupervised contact.

In one alleged instance, when communications failed for other prisoners, Maxwell was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to call and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents promptly, she “essentially used” the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The statement indicates that those writing to her would send files directly to the warden, who would provide them to the inmate, for her to examine and change and return them to the warden to scan and provide to the initial correspondent.

Extra Benefits Reported

Further perks reportedly provided to her include opportunities to interact with a trainee assistance dog – a perk not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

Through a spokesperson, the White House said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“Per the President's remarks, pardoning the convict is not something he has thought about,” the spokesperson added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, it was reported that Maxwell told close associates in electronic messages that she was “much happier” at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

This past summer, she was transferred from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most detainees are serving time for financial and non-violent crimes.

The transfer, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, Todd Blanche, who also once acted as the President's private attorney.

This questioning came as the administration was facing increasing scrutiny to release more documents related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around the President's own connections to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Congressional Response

Through the statement, Raskin also revealed that he had sent a letter to Trump, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and urged the president to deny the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” the representative stated in the letter. “The government must not offer her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with federal law enforcement officials waiting on her every need, or with any special treatment or facility benefit at all.”

Raskin requested that Blanche attend a open legislative session to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to the President.

He inquired whether Trump had talked about a possible clemency for Maxwell with Blanche or others, whether he had directed Blanche or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the move or special conditions in prison, and whether she, her attorneys, relatives or agents have made any promises to Trump or his legal team.

The representative requested for a response to the questions by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court declined to hear an appeal from the convict on her trafficking verdict.
