This January transfer window is always a time of feverish rumour and possible major transfers. A number of high-profile footballers are being linked with transfers out of their current clubs. We examine some of the top figures who might be changing clubs this month.

A. Semenyo

Despite Ghana's inability to reach the AFCON, which has left the forward available, indications are an important transfer is imminent. Juventus are eager to tie down the 20-year-old to a lengthy contract but face a battle to retain one of the continent's brightest prospects.

K. Smit

The much-admired Dutch teenage midfielder has drawn comparisons to Kevin De Bruyne for his playing style. Following impressing at the Under-19 European Championship, he has become a regular in the AZ side. This teenager is widely expected to complete a major move this month. Newcastle reportedly are frontrunners, but are facing strong competition from the Spanish champions for a deal priced at around £22 million.
